Okay, seriously? If you love a canon character, but don't like a ship and they put that ship in the character's canon? It can make your love for the show really wane. Just saying. When that ship becomes about ALL the character exists in the show for, it's even worse.
Which is why I am going to go back and watch House from the first Season 1 episode, and watch all episodes right up until about episode 3x18 and I'm setting myself a challenge. I'm writing Chase a canon prompt for every episode he is in, no matter what he is doing, right up until they hook him up with Cameron. Sort of a canon diary, the episodes from Chase's viewpoint. A lot might just be patient case notes from his thought process, but I'm going to do this.
It's not that I don't like Cameron, it's just that I don't like her in a ship with Chase, nor do I like how that ship started, progressed, or continued to current day. I could probably swallow Chase with anyone else but Cameron, and a lot has to do with the actors splitting in real life and the fact I think they have zip chemistry on screen as a couple. But to each his own. That's why I write Chase as a muse - to have the luxury to explore him beyond canon, so that's what I want to do with his canon verse. Maybe it will renew my love for the show, but I dunno... Season 5 didn't do much for me at all. I loved the House/Cuddy bits and Wilson is love. Chase licking stippers was a shining ray of light in a Season that I otherwise felt rather blah towards. Time to sink my teeth back into Chase as a character, because I love him and I love having his voice in my head, I just hate what the show have done (or rather not done) with him in the last two seasons.
