Oh, this is marvelous- an involved Sandy who's not assuming the situation will take care of itself. And there had to be some police/caseworker involvement in anything involving a kid on probation and 'gunshot residue'.

Even better, Sandy's making sure Kirsten's fully in the loop. I'm really looking forward to what you do with them 'tag team'. Seth and Ryan are spot-on in character, Seth clueless as always while Ryan is hyper vigilant, aware of just how much this may have jeopardized his situation with the Cohens. I love the picture of those quiet contemplative looks and downcast eyes masking him struggling with himself to trust adults and not withold information....for in Dawn's household, telling the whole truth doubtless was hardly a survival skill.

Loved this: "Sandy’s hand squeezed his son’s shoulder gently, stopping the flow of words, “Seth? Take a breath.” Seth seemed to relax a little, soothed by Sandy’s presence. Ryan wished he felt the same relief."

And this: "....Sandy snorted. “Then we’re agreed. It ends tonight. [and Ryan proceeds to lose his lunch]” So totally ominous. You are an evil woman, building such suspense for us- and the woobie.
