Second: I'm still stuck on that 'a power the dark lord knows not' line. What if it isn't Harry's power? What if he has to barter for it, cajole it away from someone - or bend a bit and ask for it to come to his side.

(3) they are agents or mediators of the sacred.
Societies view their rulers or chiefs as inheritors of the community's magical power.
So, you know, I think there are still LOTS of avenues for Snarry to take before the next book comes out. Just work that prince angle :) It all comes down to belief - yours or the character's - in the end, anyway.
