I thought about that too, How perceptive of Eric to mention Sam, almost like he knows something that Sookie isn’t aware of yet, I like Sam I really do and he would seem like a good choice to end up with but my heart belongs to the Viking for now lol..
I think the Quinn 'bit' was merely the catalyst for Eric to sweep in and be with Sookie finally, I didn’t understand why he would just turn up like that after all that had happened, He knew his permission to see Sookie had been denied and knew it would lead to trouble, I thought more of Quinn than that, especially when he went into his tirade about Eric and how he would never give up everything blah blah, it was nasty lol..
Gah I totally forgot about Tray in my post and I was really sad about him too, the whole thing with him being tricked into drinking the poisoned blood in the woods bit felt a bit contrived, I didn’t buy it to start with and then to kill him off like that felt wrong, Poor Amelia, they were really getting close, I wonder if Amelia will stay with Sookie or go back home now, It might be too hard for her to stay now *sobs*
It did feel like it lacked in the ‘human’ story, normally there’s all these little things going on with the people she see’s in normal day to day life etc, but yeah it was missing some of that grounding factor, hopefully it will return a bit more in the next instalment, omg how long do we have to wait lol....
Oh trust me, I love that viking as well. I'm working on an E/S fic right now. Literally. I took a minute off from typing to respond to this, lol. But given what Sookie wants, kids and husband she can see during the day, I really want her to end up with Sam.
I wish that Quinn hadn't been mentioned at all. I think that CH could have worked it so that Eric being with Sookie finally could have been another result of the fairie war. Did that make any sense? I guess.... More focus? There was to much in this. If she'd left him out and just focused of the war, I think the book wouldn't have been so frenzied. And really, Eric could have found just abour any reason to claim her. :P
Yeah.... I don't really think Tray would have been that stupid. I know that the reason was fairie magic, but I think that that could have been played up more in order to make it more believeable. I was thinking about Amelia as well. I really don't know. I mean, I have thoughts, but those are going to be in a fic so I'm going to keep it to myself for now.
Has the release date been mentioned? I heard that it was a long ways away, but I can't remember any contrete dates.
Yeah Eric could have definitely found the moment to claim her sweeping in and sweeping her off her feet alla Rhett Butler. I think your right about the inclusion of Quinn, it would have allowed more coverage of the war, which let’s face it was worth way more coverage and depth, it wouldn’t have all been quite so frenzied and maybe would have flowed just that little easier, although what do I know lol...
I know Tray got zapped by the fairie magic but didn’t it all seem to happen very quickly and didn’t really flow, he was there protecting her (them) and then it’s the next day and he’s ill and Amelia has gone to work, surly she would have sussed something, Amelia would have wondered why he was so ill and I would have expected him to tell her what had happened etc, maybe I’m just over thinking this all way too much lol...
An E/S fic you say? Hmm sounds good to me, hurry I’m getting withdrawal already *starts shaking*
What a lovely mental picture. I think Eric would do some excellent sweeping ala Rhett. And I totally agree, the war deserved to be explored way more than the Quinn thing, which wasn't really a thing at all. But then again, maybe he's gonna be important in th next book. But if that's the case, she could have set that up better.
Yeah... I wish that the Tray thing had been dealt with more in depth. It felt rushed and like the surface of what was really happening was just being skimmed over. And that makes me sad because that's it for him. No more Tray and that's how we'll have to remember him.
Not to plug my own fics, but yup. I've got a couple things on the way. The fic I'm currently working on is pre-D&G, but the one after is going to deal with D&G. But I still need to write it so it's going to be a while. Perhaps you can find something on ff.net to calm the jitters? :P I mean, I know it's not the same as reading something by me, but it can't hurt, right? (Sorry, couldn't resist. :P)
I’ve been way too much about this today at work lol, and I’ve also noted that there were a few continuity errors, I think anyways lol, Wasn’t Claude and Claudine's dead sister called Claudia not Claudette, and also it was Chow not Clancy that killed Hallows minion (witch's representative back in book)
I have a really strong feeling that you wrote something ages ago that I haven’t read, maybe, or maybe I just dreamt it *ponders* I’ll go have a look.. I’m thinking of trying a really short piece with Sookie and Felipe de Castro, maybe with some dancing thrown it, I bet Felipe can move ya know lol,
HAHA, no worries. My little brain is always going over this stuff. :P I'm not sure about the names though. Honestly, I'd forgotten that there was a triplet. And I don't remember who killed the minion, but I do remember Chow being in that book and not Clancy. Perhaps I should look that up tonight.
You know, I think you're right. I don't think you read the two sequels to "Past and Present." Or... you didn't review anyway. That doesn't mean you didn't read them though. Here's the links if you're interested:
Ooooh, you should totally do that! I'd love to read it! (So long as it isn't smut. I'm not a fan of smut.) But still, that sounds really interesting. I could definitley see him dancing. And Eric getting jealous. And Sookie loving every minute of it... Uh, yeah. Write now please? :P
Yeah I can’t write smut at all lol, I can have a go at a bit of suggestive sauce but that’s about as far as I’m comfortable with, I don’t mind reading smut in the slightest but I’m just not good at doing it so I don’t try lol. I have an image of a special night at Fangtasia, with that dance duo (blue moon dancers?) and Felipe is there to honour them with his presence (yada yada) and of course Sookie is there as Eric’s pledged sweetie lol and (I’m having visions of the grease dance off) Felipe chooses Sookie as his partner, of course Eric is pissed but has to agree and he goes and partners up with some drop dead (he he) gorgeous vamp to get back at Sookie, and of course comedy ensues.. It’s just a silly idea and I wont have time till next week to try and work it but maybe it will come together or maybe it will suck badly lol...
I didn’t read/review parts 2/3 and will do so as soon as i get five mins to sit and enjoy it *is a bad flist friend*
