Ella hadn't been expecting anything for Valentine's Day. Really, she hadn't. Greeting card holidays were hardly something she cared for, being of the general opinion that doing something extravagant in terms of romance wasn't something that should be limited to one particular day when you were essentially instructed to do so.
So while she had to admit to having felt a tug of annoyance at the fact that she knew this week's Quidditch schedule would have Jonah across the country over the weekend, it wasn't like she hadn't been planning on spending most of Friday at the office anyway.
That morning's letter, then, was a surprise both pleasant and unexpected, one that ended up finding her struggling to muffle the grin that kept creeping up on her throughout the day.
That is both unsettling and completely unnecessary to think about, so thank you. Handlebar mustaches will now haunt me in my sleep.
Don't jinx me, Montgomery. You're supposed to say, "Cheers- fall of your broom and crack yer neck-" or whatever it is these locals keep saying to me...
How does next Friday work, by the way? We've got a long break (three whole days) coming up before semi-finals.

May the weather be dreadful and lightning strike you down and the Beaters have some kind of personal grudge against you.
Better?
Friday works perfectly. I suppose with enough of an incentive I could even be bothered to leave work early.

That is so much better. You could add in something about the Snitch flying up my nose, or knocking me in the eye or something.
Oh, is that so? Would coming to visit me at my place in Ballycastle be incentive enough? Or should I throw in something covered in sugar as well?

Obviously the Snitch will also end up knocking you upside the head, followed by the other team's Seeker.
I'm not that easy, Linney. Clearly some kind of sugar-high will also be required.
That said, I think I could manage the trip.

Alright, now you're just getting carried away- Obviously, I would have the foresight to at least veer off and out of the bloke's way.
I would never suggest you were- Which is also why I've tracked down a good bakery in my village.
Not that I'm trying to seduce you or anything.

Ah, but by then you'll have been struck by lightning and Bludgered half senseless, sooo-
Trying or not, you're doing quite a job of it. Keep feeding me and you're golden.

All valid points. Will you be there to nurse me back to health?
In that case, I'll buy the whole bloody bakery..
