This election is driving me crazy. Why do they all have to be so fucking close? I'm doing some work for the Democrats, though I should do more. But really, every door has been knocked on multiple times, every phone rung a hundred times. I'm distributing literature and will work the polls; my canvassing and calling is done. My state (VA) is one of the swingingest of the swing states (the state song should be sung by Frank Sinatra) so if Obama doesn't carry it, and consequently loses the election, it will be MY FAULT. But no pressure.
I've barely thought about the youth soccer season. I've been to one game all Fall. There will be a tournament the weekend after the election. I'm not sure that's such a good idea--we'll see.
Hurricane Sandy is moving the tree branches around ominously, and the lights flickered recently. It would be annoying to lose power again. In the summer, after the derecho, at least the days were long and I could hang out on the porch if it got too hot. Maybe we'll luck out.
