Horror doesn't phase me... usually

I'm a massive horror fan, but don't get phased easily by the genre. I mean, I get the buzz, sure, but nothing scares me that much that I'm literally quivering with fear under my bedclothes; until I played Slender: The Arrival, an arcade game on Xbox:Live. Holy fuck. It's about Slenderman who is scary anyway. I mean, the person who created him is a genius. I expected to enjoy the game but not be phased by it as such. I was wrong. This game had me quivering and jumping. It actually felt like I was IN the game. I have never felt fear like it. My hairs went up on the back of my neck every time I was plunged into darkness, every time I heard a sound, every time there was a bit of distortion from the video recorder (main character uses a video recorder and it distorts when either Slenderman or one of his proxies (children he has abducted and enslaved, in order to do his dirty work) is close by) and when eerie music started to play, signifying that something horrfic was going to go down.

The only downside is it's too short. There are nine chapters in all, but some are hidden. I managed to find them all thankfully. They'd better make a sequel though! Just got to remind myself that when they do, make sure I'm not alone in the house and that I've got ALL the lights on...

If any of my friends here own an Xbox, and like horror then I urge you to play this game.

MOOD - Sick. Time of the month. Being a woman can really SUCK sometimes.
