Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston are great examples of voices that can't sing. A singer needs to be able to tell a story, to make you feel things.
I couldn't disagree more. For me personally, I think they do just that (particularly Whitney Houston). I guess that's what cool about this chart, is seeing their ranges clearly delineated. And Huff-Po's caveat was pretty much on the mark I thought (vocal range isn't the ONLY element in great talent).
OK... Perhaps I'm using the wrong words to try to delineate these two things. Telling stories and making you feel things are emotional and fairly subjective.
