Why do we stumble?

UGH!!! Interacting with some people just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Proverbially, you know what I mean. It's like no matter how much both sides try, it's nearly impossible to escape the inevitable awkwardness. I think there are walls of misconception surrounding both people, on top of the differences in communication styles. There are moments when we break through the fakeness, but those are rare and ephemeral. The expectation for more of those moments rises and then isn't fulfilled, reaffirming old misconceptions. I hate it! It leaves me shaken, because I want to truly connect with those people and find myself failing.

I mean, I'll bounce back, surely. This doesn't deter me in any permanent way. But still... every time one of these instances crop up, it gets increasingly difficult to ignore. & I just need to blow off some steam, think about it some, reassess, find new perspective. Entries like this are very palliative for that sort of thing.
