Finally, last night was something both jac and i were reeeeally looking forward to, as sort of a break that we can take, from all the stress in school.
Never had so much to look forward to after a day in school, whereby we can finally go out and have some fun.
So we got the invites to the MTV Fashionably Loud event, thanks to, MTV of course, who gave us (the crew of Radio Fusion) those invites (while we were also giving out those tickets on their behalf during our open house).
Jac, her bf, me and our exchange student friend, Will, went down to the even together. we reached an hour early, but it was good 'cos we were rather near the front of the queue. Cheryl joined us there shortly after.
When we finally went into "the tent", it was great! well at least there was air-conditioning provided. the place itself was cool, with the stage and the runway for the fashion show.
The highlight of the event was of course, the performance by UK rock band - Placebo. I thought the thick eye makeup on the lead singer, reminds me a lot of the lead singer from Greenday too. but of course, their vocals are totally different. Brian's voice is rather unique, such that you should be able to recognise a Placebo song once you hear that special vocals of his.
I've heard of Placebo, but the only song I know from them was "Every You".
The show began with a catwalk contest, hosted by MTV VJs Denise Keller and Colby.
Then finally, Placebo appeared and got the whole crowd rocking away with them. I kinda like their songs!!! great performance indeed.
Along with their performance, was a fashion show where the models strutted their stuff down the runway while Placebo was performiing. I think that was such a cool concept!! A rock concert *** fashion show.
The event ended at 9 plus, and I totally enjoyed it! Awesome show indeed.
Then we were feeling rather hungry, so we went to the food republic at Wisma Atria to grab a bite (and jac's junior joined us too) before heading down to Clarke Quay.
First stop was Brewerkz, where we had, i must say, one of the nicest-tasting beer i've ever had. We ended up playing the 5-10 game to try and finish up the beer asap, so then we were high and made our way to Ministry of Sound.
I haven't been there in ages! and certainly not on a Thursday night. But thurs nights are great 'cos they would be playing the hiphop and r&B music at the Main Arena, where there'd be more space for us to dance!! (than at SMOOVE).
Some interesting things that happened last night..or rather, interesting characters.
1. MTV VJ Colby was there, along with Fiona Xie. They were dancing on the same platform as us, and once ppl recognised her, the guys started SWARMING to the platform. but once she leaves the platform, the platform was left as empty as it could be (i.e. only jac, me and her junior).
2. The cool bartender who didn't want to tell us his name! So i called him "Mr. No Name" bartender (check out the photo album for his pic.)
3. This is the highlight of the night - 2 SUPER DUUPER DESPERATE girls, who were going up to random guys, and pulling them up onto the platform to dance with them! throughout the last hour of the night, they had danced with god-knows how many guys already. some major sl-ut behavior there man, throwing themselves at ANY guy. and at the end of the night when the music stopped, they were sitting at the platform, giving the "you want to f-uck us?" looks at guys walking past them.
While we were queuing up to get our bags, i really heard them screaming "You want some s-ex tonight?!?!".
MY GOODNESS.
That aside, i really had sooo much fun last night!!!!!!! major de-stressing. before the stress begins once again next week. gaaaaaaah.
was at the event with a friend staying at our hall, an exchange student from NY - Will.
