Here I am last night, one day shy of 35 weeks:
I'm starting to swell everywhere. My hands and feet are chubby & I'm getting a little double chin. My rings still fit, but I'm going to have to take them off before they get stuck if they swell much more. My belly button is still the same, off centered and discolored, but still in there. I'm not sure if it's going to pop; it's running out of time. My hips and thighs--ugh!! They're huge!! I hope they don't stick around.
Contractions have become a daily thing and they are a bit uncomfortable. Sometimes I barely feel anything but my stomach hardens so I know it's happening. Other times it feels like a mild cramp, but on occasion I'll get a strong one that I have to breath through. The midwife says it's okay as long as I don't get 10 or more in one hour and to expect them to increase in intensity. Yay -_-
My back hurts all the damn time. I can't for the life of me just move one part of my body; I move one part, and the rest of my body comes with it. Yesterday we went to the mall for an hour or two and I was really waddling by the time we were ready to leave. My back and hips and knees and feet and everything were just not having it.
Despite the discomforts, it really is bearable. Women give me sympathetic looks, but it's not that bad!! I was expecting to be much more uncomfortable at this stage. I would much rather put up with this than how I felt the first trimester. I'll give another update on that next week, since I hear 36 weeks is really when it all starts getting uncomfortable and old.
Tomorrow I'm finally getting an overdue haircut. I want my bangs back (long bangs though) and I'm going to ask her to get rid of some of the layers by cutting off the bottom and just trimming the rest. I should look for a picture, but this girl cut my hair last time and I was pleased so I'm just kind of going to let her do whatever will look good. I want to keep some length since pulling my hair back is convenient and I want simplicity since I'm not going to have much time to spend on myself soon. & I want something different. I've had basically the same layered haircut, just at different lengths, for years.
I also made an appointment to use my manicure/pedicure gift certificate. I'm going to have it done a couple days before my baby shower on the 14th of January. I just hope the person who does it speaks better english and is more friendly than the person who made my appointment.
