The wisdom teeth thing went fine.
Everything has been going good so far--being put out for it was just rather scary.
I got very paranoid and it just wasn't a good experience. I came out of it just fine; I didn't vomit and I was calm by that time. Everything else has been fine.
Minimal pain yet except for right when I took out the gauze and I hadn't taken any vicadin yet. But I took care of that right away.
Speaking of vicadin, it is my new best friend. I've never had it and it's wonderful. I've only been taking half of one every two hours, but I just took a whole one for the next four hours and I'm starting to feel it already.
Swelling has gone down a lot since I first came home. I've been keeping ice on it almost constantly because not only it feels nice but my face and lips were humongous. I've had a milkshake, some squash soup, and jello today, so eating hasn't been a problem. The nurse said that protein speeds up healing, so I'm going to try to move onto that tomorrow in the form of eggs and tuna or tiny pieces of a hamburger patty. I just wasn't ready for chewing today.
I've been drooling quite a bit, but I just stick a small piece of paper towel in the front of my mouth in order to absorb saliva so I don't swallow much. I'm afraid to swallow too much saliva because not only am I still bleeding a little now and again, but I don't want to end up with a dry socket.
I'm feeling light headed and jello-like, so I'll save the rest of the details, especially those pertaining to being put out, for later.
If parts of this aren't cohesive, blame it on the marvelous vicadin.
Hopefully things continue to go this well in the next couple days.
I need some ice + sleep.
