I haven't been using this much lately, but I thought it would be useful for me to write things down while I am at school in England, so I can look back and read about things I may have forgotten. I've been here 5 days though, and already so many things have happened that I probably can't remember them all.
The school itself is crap. It is really pretty, but for international students it is really hard. They basically just dumped us here and left us to fend for ourselves. We've been doing well though!
Jess and I have made fast friends with some kids from Ohio, Bob and Amanda, and one boy from Mass, David. We go down to the "city centre" every day, basically. Sunday, I think it was, Bob was going to get a phone and he went up to a building and pushed the door. Well, it was closed and he set off a blaring alarm. It was amazing.
That same night, we bought conversion plugs so we can use the outlet here. On the plugs they have this weird circle that sticks out around the outlet. No idea why, but square plugs (like phones and mac computers) don't fit in the outlet. First we tried to melt it off with a lighter, but it was taking for ever. Somehow we came up with the idea of using a can opener to get it off. After some effort it actually worked. The whole thing was useless though because Amanda ended up plugging something in and there was too much electricity and she almost blew up the house. That entire wall outlet is entirely useless now.
Obviously we have been hitting a new pub every night, and generally more than one a night.
Last night we hung out with the other kids that live on our floor which was amazing. They hated the last American kids here and apparently we are so different from them. They were so excited we aren't fat, think everyone should be asleep by 11, and are not virgins.
