Who says he's regenerating? They put the whole show on hiatus for a year so he could do Shakespeare... I doubt they would halt production like that if he were going anywhere anytime soon.

true. he's way too popular for the producers to pull those sort of shenanigans.
however, i was a bit thrown by the whole "I'm regenerating" statement, and, you know, his body being in flux.
plus, they have been stirring up a shit storm of speculation over in England about who the new doctor will be.

still, they wouldn't have had rose whisper "bad wolf" to Donna if they weren't going to have her save him, so i won't let my heart break just yet.

Ah, you're at that episode... Sorry that I might have inadvertently given you a spoiler, then.

I'll just say this, then; bear in mind that a) BBC is terrible at keeping casting spoilers and b) When Rusty writes a script he re-writes rules whenever he feels like it.

There's been a shitstorm of speculation over who the next Doctor will be ever since DT first slipped on that pair of Converse and stepped into the TARDIS.

Whoops, I meant to type BBC is terrible at keeping casting secrets. Hell, I'd seen pictures of Julian Bleach as Davros two weeks into season 4. Speaking of which - Julian Bleach! Davros! Friggin' AWESOME!

They're going to have to pry that role from DT's cold, dead hands. He's wanted to play the Doctor his whole life. I've actually seen a scan of his High School yearbook (it was on LJ like a year ago, I'm frantically trying to google it to no avail) where a 15-year-old DT is interviewed in drama class talking about how he wants to play the Doctor when he grows up. It's totally awesome. If I find it again I'll pass it on.

Found it. It wasn't High School - it was grammar school:

Um... It was a grammar school newsletter, DT was just out of High School...

He was very very young. We'll leave it at that.

Or the school was called 'Grammar'... Just ignore me, I can't figure out how to edit comments.
