Summer, ghosts and...

Woah. Someone flicked a switch and suddenly BAM! Instant summer. A week ago all the trees were still bare-branched and budding, now the world is leafy and green. *happy sigh*

It's supposed to get to 28 degrees tomorrow, blimey.

At work today one of the women I work with saw someone rounding the corner to the printer and asked them to pick up her prints. When she followed the person round noone was there. Our building's ghost has apparently been seen by quite a few people over the last 10 years- always a lady in brown.

Being at work and definitely lacking intellectual stimulation, what little there is to stimulate, I started thinking about ghosts. I love ghost stories. A lot of ghost stories are easily doubted because the person telling it is naturally given to exaggeration and drama (no bad thing) or you simply don't know them that well. These factors alone discount most of the ghost stories I know as being a view changing account of the paranormal. However there is one person in particular in my life who is one of my oldest friends and I hold a firm belief in her character and measure. Over the years this person has had a lot of very, very weird shit happen to her. It is her experiences above all that make me doubt even slightly that ghosts don't exist.

As far as our building's ghost is concerned it could technically be explained away by a trick of the eye and a word of mouth history of people seeing a woman in brown. Herefordshire itself seems lacking in very old ghost stories and supposedly haunted buildings, especially compared to Norfolk. Or maybe I just need to do some more research.

Or maybe I need to stop rambling and go outside to the sunshine. :) Icecream time!

Have you guys ever heard a ghost story that's made you pause for thought? Care to share? I love hearing them, even if ghosts creep me the hell out!

icecream, summer, ghosts
