An Herbal Remedy Experiment (and mini exam woes)

Aug 16, 2006 20:46

In this new cookbook/life style book thing we have lying around the house there is a 'skin softness rub' recipe that involves some basic household ingrediants. Always looking for potential cures for my dry skin, curiousity won out and I put it together to try.

The recipe involved these: oats, water, lavender oil and salt. I also added honey and milk for good luck (and because I got to lick the honey spoon mwaha).

In a bowl it didn't look all that appealing. Infact it looked like porridge and smelt like slightly odd lavender oil, not something I really wanted to apply to my skin.

I pressed on regardless and whisked it upstairs to the shower, hoping that in the time it would take me to get everything ready it would have congealed into something closer to a paste. No such luck.

It wasn't until I'd already applied the first handfull that I realised I was essentially rubbing myself down with porridge. By the time I'd finished there were oats in places that should never encounter foodstuffs of any variety*. To further the sense of indignity, a globule of lavendery porridge dropped off my shoulder and landed on my foot. It looked very much like a Scotsman had broken in and flung his breakfast at me, coating the shower stall in the meantime.

All washed and dried off I have to say my skin actually feels quite nice! Never the less, the whole experience was a tad on the traumatic side and so I thought I should attempt to share it with you all, mwahaha.

That aside, I'm really quite nervous about tomorrow. I have no recollection of the exam at all and therefore no idea how I did. Eeeep!

Ah well, off to phone the boy and then to bed. Night all!

*Not even if it's Guacamole or sour cream and chive dip. :-P
