Revenge of the ladybirds/when arachnids attack

Jun 02, 2006 11:28

I keep blasting them with various things but the aphids still come back, tenacious little buggers. Then this morning I found a ladybird sat on my net curtain next to the plant. Go little ladybird, go! Eat them, eat them all!

On a completely different topic, hanging washing out on the line in my garden is an arachnophobe's worst nightmare. Because the pegs stay out there (don't ask me why, I don't argue with my housemate) about three spiders live in each peg and they all spin their webs over the washing line. These spiders range from itty bitty teeny ones to ones the size of my thumbnail.
So this morning I had to clean off a load of pegs to use and some of the the washing line itself and spiders kept dropping on me! I'm not technically an arachnophobe, I mean spiders are fine... from a distance. Spiders crawling over me, up into my hair and into my clothes are a different story! In particular there was this huge red one that crawled up into my hair. Cue me doing the frantic dance of one who has a massive red spider in her hair. *shudder* Every now and again I have to frantically pat myself down and shake out my legs just in case.

spiders, chilli plant, procrastination, aphids, ladybirds
