winter term: assignment three
This assignment will be the third and final assignment of the winter term. It will be due by the end of term on February 1. We look forward to grading your submissions for a total of fifty points to your respective house.
Dissect-a-Spell
You are to seek out two spells or charms from the canon and dissect them. A proper submission for this assignment will include the roots for the spell's name, what they mean in English, and why the meaning is relevant to the spell's function. For extra points, determine any extra information about the spell (perhaps its inventor, the place of its conception, what the spell was traditionally used for and if modern usage is similar, requirements to perform the spell, etc.)
Comments WILL NOT be screened. This means you may not repeat a spell that has been dissected by another student.
