13 down, 8 more to go! UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN FRESHMAN STATUS, but FUCK I miss San Antonio!

So 13 years of school down. K-12.

EIGHT MORE TO GO. Freshman-Senior, then masters then Ph.D! Helllll yeah!

So this past week was orientation at the University of Texas at Austin. I'm officially a freshman again.

First of all: UT. IS. FUCKING. HUGE. I HAVE WALKED AND WALKED AND GOTTEN LOST AND FOUND MY WAY SO MANY TIMES...I knew it was really big but my legs are going to be HUGE by the time I graduate. I'm always out in the sun too and my mom said I lost weight and got a tan. UPSIDE! The shuttle is pretty cool cause there's no way you can drive to class and it's free. I'm pretty much used to the campus now so yeah.

THROWIN' IT DOWN IN THE LITTLEFIELD DORM...just for the summer session though. It's alright but i'm gonna live in JESTER in the fall! There's restaurants and stores and all kinds of things in the dorms. Mine is pretty cool I made friends with some real cool people in the same hall i'm so glad I found them we keep each other on track. Only downside is I really don't connect that well with my room mate :/.

THIS SUMMER'S COURSES FOR ARIEL'S ASIAN CULTURES AND LANGUAGES (JAPANESE CONCENTRATION) DEGREE:

Cultural Anthropology
Ecology, Evolution and Society
Contemporary Moral Problems

I only have to take three classes in the summer session and they're prtty much just basic requirements each going to some different part of la la la WHATEVER. FALL CLASSES ARE BETTER:

Intro to Japan
First-Year Japanese 1
Intro to Study of Language (linguistics)
Intro to Nutrition

It sounds unbalanced cause i'm not used to taking things I ACTUALYY WANT TO TAKE but they all go to different areas of requirement. I'm just glad I didn't have to take anything remedial and I might not have to take math or english at all.

AND I CAN MINOR IN CHINESE. *yessssss*

I bought my books at the co-op (got hit on by an employee; lame) across the street from my dorm and it just sucked so bad walking alllll the way back with this huge ass bag of textbooks. I saw a really funny shirt there that said

"TOP 10 REASONS WHY I DIDN'T GO TO COLLEGE STATION"

on the back..haha I want that shirt.

It's real easy to make friends and i've hardly been irritated since I got there...probably because there are less idiots and fat people and everyone walks fast + + + very good things. It's very easy to seperate yourself from all the crap.

Annnnd this concludes my ramble about UT Austin. HOOK 'EM HORNS.
