Fair Professor Brun
Stern perfectionist, I yearn
To see thy non-smile.

A thing of beauty
A joy forever, so Keats
Would have described it.

I'm so glad we're going to go back to school soon! There are some things that I will truly miss next summer if it is fated that I shall never see them again!

Are those haikus? I think that's what Ed called them.

Indeed they are! Are you interested in poetry?

Not really. I don't know much about it.

Ah. That's all right. Haiku seemed an apt poetry form for a subject like the wonderful Professor Brun. Terse and to-the-point and very disciplined.

I don't know much about her either, but I suppose you would know better than I would anyway!

I doubt she'd like your haiku, then!

Probably not. I believe in expressing honest and sincere feelings, however.

Thank you kindly. The truth is usually bound to get out sooner or later anyway on important matters, yeah?

So how have you been anyway, cutie? Getting into a lot of trouble over the summer, or bored senseless, or perhaps a combination of both?

Bored senseless. You have no idea how bored.

I think I have gotten a vague impression. Sorry to hear.

Not as sorry as I am.
