What have we become today?
Bitterly mocking
A tolerant society
Funny how freedoms can
Evanesce
When our God’s brow furrows
God Bless America
Land I despise
Don’t change her, you simply derange her
You’re not welcome in our God’s eyes
From the benches, to the altars
To the Preachers, black with bigotry
God Bless America, you might as well leave.
Well that’s how it is
Right?
We’ll take the poor and tired
The huddled masses
Wait a minute boys; don’t get too close
That book forbids it
God will love us
Through pain and strife
He will forgive us for our sins
For our pettiness and wars
But for loving the wrong person
That’s something he cannot condone.
