Ok, well last night I kind of had an epiphany and wrote a short story/song fic for the veronica mars fandom. My very first fic for this group, so I was a bit iffy to actually post it, but in order to get feedback you must right? So here it is and I hope you enjoy it...if any of you actually read it. LOL I also made a few icons :)
Title: Incomplete
Disclaimer: All characters are property of Rob Thomas, the song “Incomplete” by the Backstreet Boys.
Character Pairing: Duncan/Veronica
Summary: Finding a way back to each other is harder then it actually sounds.
empty spaces fill me up with holes
distant faces with no place left to go
After everything was over, things still didn’t seem to go back to normal and she was starting to think they never would. She had hoped that after her dad got his job back with the sheriffs department that all the looks and whispers would go away, but things weren’t that simple. Not in Neptune, she should have known. Even after Logan declared her as his girlfriend last year, people still snubbed her. She was safe here though, in her room. No one could get to her here. Even as she sat on her bed and tried to think of how things got so messed up, she could feel herself breaking.
without you, within me I can’t find no rest
where I’m going, is anybody’s guess
The house was silent, dark. He was all alone. Not even the help was around nowadays. He usually spent his time in his room, thinking of how it would be to have her back. Those times they spent alone together, he thought it would last forever. Who was he kidding they were kids. Still, he wanted that back. He wanted to feel her touch, her breathe. He missed their talks, no matter how much she went on and on about her day, he missed hearing it. Duncan looked up at the clock above his dresser and knew that when each minute passed, he was missing a part of her life. He picked up the phone to dial her number, but found himself putting back on the receiver.
I tried to go on like I never knew you
I’m awake, but my world is half asleep
School was the same as usual. He was with his group, and she was still the outsider. They would pass in the hallways without words being spoken. It was like they were strangers. She didn’t know it, but it was killing him. He wanted to stop and say hello, ask her how her day is going, but it could never happen. He was a different person now. He wasn’t the same boy she fell in love with so long ago. He would look at her though, whenever he had the chance he would look at her. He missed her after all.
I pray for this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I’m going to be is…
He didn’t want his world anymore for the mere fact that she wasn’t in it. He was so happy back then, and Duncan knew it was because of her. Now, all he had was friends who in a quick second could turn on him, just like they did her. It didn’t matter who he was with, nobody could compare to her. Veronica feeling the same way as Duncan, wondered how you could just go up to someone and confess that you have these feelings for them that really never went away, especially if you’re not even on their radar. She decided she would keep it to herself yet another day and go on pretending that they meant nothing to each other, even though it meant deceiving her heart.
…INCOMPLETE
She was the one person he had ever loved, and now he didn’t have that feeling. It was like a part of him was missing. He would go on though, missing her everyday. Holding onto perhaps one day finding his way back to her.
