I just rewatched Predators and I've read some great great Royce/Isabelle fics for it. I think your narrating skills would do wonders for these. But if you don't feel it, you don't. Try rewatching.

I stopped watching Fringe because I didn't have time to watch anything (took a break with even Nikita, you know) and 'cause I actually like watching the episodes as a marathon instead of waiting forever for the next one to come out. I haven't even watched the new Supernatural eps because I'm gonna watch them with the male-being later... I sort of promised and I'm totally okay with it because I seriously don't have time to download everything. We should get season 5 box sometime this week (it only took us a a few weeks to get through season 4), sigh.
I wish I had Harper's Island box! I never even saw all the episodes, because of work -- and when I realized the reruns were on, the show only had few episodes left (which I'd seen, argh!). I might have to watch this from the beginning, too. It was deliciously twisted, uh huh.
Then don't throw in any spy stuff? Just focus on the calm before the storm, maybe? Or have Nikita hiding out with someone, waiting for the storm to blow over. There is no need for plot in a standalone. Just write the characters. Or maybe have Nikita go through a similar mindfuck experince that Alex did? ;)

I'd do that. ;) - male!Hawke x Isabella - Zevran x Tabris!Warden (city elf) - drunken Alistair in DA2 (after you break his heart by choosing Loghain, which I did when my mage aka Amnell was romancing him)... and eventually Teagan comes in gets him back to Fereldan from the Hanging Man. - fem!Hawke x Fenris (I romanced him with a rogue, it was true love, aaahhhh) - dirty!Sebastian x Hawke (someone wrote him as a deliciously evil and perverted ruler with submissive Hawke and I liiiiiiiked it) Sebastian is a DLC, btw.
Lots of excellent fics in dragonage, but since LJ is fucked up I can't do the search for you. FF.net has more Mary Sues and badfic. Ohhh, but I do have link to the never ending
