Tut no.1

Hi! Today I'm going to show you how to make quite nice (and easy!) effect in nine steps :) Before you read this, please, remember that I'm not English so my English can be incorrect. Be forgiving! :) But I hope you'll understand me. Oh! And one thing else. I use Photoshop 7.0, and, in addition, Polish version, so I it's possible I made a mistake with translating some names into English. Sorry ;)

1st step - cropping, sharpening, blur

x We're starting with Kirsten Dunst. Its 100x100px, it's just usual icon. Before, I
x cropped it (from this image),
x sharpened (Filter->Sharpen->Sharpen) it and
x blured (Blur tool) her skin and the background.

2nd step - duplicate

x I duplicated the base and took it on the top.
x I desaturated the second layer (Image > Adjustements > Desaturate), changed it to Screen.

3rd step - duplicate #2

x Then I duplicated the second layer (which is desaturated too!) and changed it to Soft Light.

4th step - Saturation

x Next, I changed the Saturation. (Layer->New Adjustment Layer->Hue/Saturation)
General: 0; 0; 0;
Red: 0; 30; 0;
Yellow: 0; 7; 0;
Green: 0; 0; 0;
Cyan: 0; 0; 0;
Blue: 0; 18; 0;
Magenta: 0; 0; 0.

5th step - Levels

x Then I changed the Levels. (Layer->New Adjustment Layer->Levels   ... or somethin')
RGB 0; 1,28; 255;
Red 0; 1,30; 255;
Green 0; 1,00; 255;
Blue 0; 1,24; 255

6th step - Balance

x I changed the Color Balance. (Layer->New Adjustment Layer->Color Balance)
Shadows: -42; -35; 12;
Midshadows (or how you, English, call that): 9; 14; 1;
Lights: -26; -10; -47;

7th step - Selective Color

x I changed the Selective Color. (Layer->New Adjustment Layer->Selective Color)
Red: -100; -3; 9; 0;
Yellow: -100; 0; -40; -20;
And then only zeros :)

8th step - Text

x Than, I added some nice text. I chose "DREAM", Times New Roman, 14px.

Done!
I hope you like it :)
