It's harder to keep up with livejorunal now than in college, and I think I figured out why:
1. My days are more uniform than in college. There's way less spontaneity to report.
2. Computer time is less available than in college. What?! It's so weird that I used to have two hours of class, then two hours off to play/fool around on the computer, then an hour of class, then nap time. I miss college.
I've been working at Jeremiah Program, in the Child Development Center. Someone I work with at the on-call/second job I started last year to supplement Americorps income is the Director of the CDC, and she offered me the job when I finished Americorps. It's fun, and I love the organization - they offer housing and life skills classes and coaching and child care services to young mothers who are in school and working.
I don't want to be in childcare forever, though, and I have no idea what I want to do. Who has future career suggestions for me? Or just information about careers that are out there. Someday, perhaps years from now, when the economy starts to look less scary (is that ever expected to happen? In the next thirty years?) I will probably need some sort of map/plan when I start looking.
I'm ready for a visit to Beloit. Anyone else? Let's reun (re-you-nh)
