You see, currently Medusa's icons are all from the manga, except for her loli icons. I actually like her icons a lot, but I do like the way the anime looks better overall, and full color is always nice. (And I am far too lazy and incompetent to color manga icons.) AS SOMEONE WHO KIND OF HAS THE SAME PROBLEM I say screw consistency and use whichever one is better for the expression. ANIME ICONS ARE AWESOME because they're colored and fun to look at etc etc etc but I started uploading manga icons for Luffy because there are some faces that just don't look as funny/clear/LUFFY-ISH in the anime.

SO REALLY my heart says I like anime icons on principle but I am not sure there are any faces in the anime I... really need? Except for the loli ones which I already have.

...But I would have to go through and actually cap things to see. And I only have, like, three open icon slots right now. Which means I'd have to be replacing manga icons to use anime ones. So... idk if I want to put in the effort or not?

I actually really like your manga icons! I've always thought they were well done. But yeah, what Luffy said, follow your heart \o/.

I really like them a lot too! Which probably owes more to the mangaka being good at composition than anything, because it was actually my first time making icons from manga. \o/

...I make a minor exception for Medusa's loli icons being from the anime because I sort of like the distinguishing factor there. That is why I'd probably either keep only manga icons for her normal form or switch them all out. :-/

If you want to be consistent, stick with the manga icons! Generally, I like using manga better because I can do more with it, but that's a personal preference. But with some characters, using a mix of manga and anime can be fun, because you do get a slight variation in expressions (like the fourth set of icons you have). And I really like that, okay.

SO IN THE END, go with what you like. :(d I think variations can be fun. ... also, I use mostly anime because I've been really lazy about DLing the more recent manga chapters and kadekmoment made a bunch of anime icons for me, and then realbooted had a nice set that I ganked a few from.

I do like consistency. And I do like manga icons, because it's a lot easier to... get interesting faces/interesting compositions? And I think Medusa has a really good set.

But I also like coloooor.

OKAY SO--in all honesty, this actually only applies to Ginji right now (since I would not touch the Pandora Hearts anime with a ten-foot pole and Hakuren hasn't shown up in 07-Ghost's anime yet), but I find I prefer to have more from the source I play more from (i.e., the manga), but the anime does have the awesome thing about EXPRESSIONS THE MANGA NEVER DID! (Case in point being all the new icons Shuri got from a single episode.)

I think it's a bit more applicable if you have a minor character, which Medusa really isn't--I like the character of her manga icons better, BUT if you find anime shots you really like/have a better face for what you want, I say go for it. \o/

Right. As far as "source I play from," there's really not any difference for her normal icons - by the time the anime diverges, she's a loli, which I have already abused for icons. |D And while I am sure there are tons of new expressions in the anime... I do not actually notice Medusa lacking expressions, which is actually pretty cool. ^_^
