... that's what happen when you don't give your mains a POV
Exactly!! And I'm willing to go with you on your analysis of Sam-- I get where he's coming from. But honestly, the way he's being portrayed, if you take everything he has said/done together including "we're not brothers" (which breaks my heart, because in my opinion it's worse than "I hate you")-- I just don't see him trying to get *through* to Dean or make him understand. I just see him being hurt, and tired, and angry, and really just wanting to draw a line in the sand to protect himself, no matter what the cost. I really get the feeling (no matter how many people say "You know it ain't so") that Sam actually just doesn't care about Dean at this point. (Any more than he would about any other person- Sam would run in to rescue any civilian so him doing so for Dean doesn't tell me anything.) Like, he's just done.
So, yeah. .. here we are again 9 years later. And I'm weary of it. I just want my brothers back, the reason I got hooked in the first place.
You've heard that we'll see a change very soon? That's encouraging-- can you tell me more? Where have you heard this?
Anyway, thanks for your insights. I can only hope that they're just not portraying their intentions very well, and this isn't how they actually mean for the characters to be coming across.
It's weird cause they have Sam do the speeches at the end, but when Dean is in trouble in the episodes he go in panic mode in help him. His words say one thing, but his actions is another. I'm over here like "nice try Sam we know you still give a damn. Yeah I agree the way he's being put out is not to kind, in his POV it's so small you really have to look at maybe small movements he does, or a few lines and his actions. I can understands Deans better even though his POV is not like it use to we still understand his motives better in as a audience we see the show threw his eyes more.
From what I saw after the writers was getting backlash on twitter. Some tweeted it wont last forever and one tweeted they have to break down to rebuild. So Even though im still piss they got me till the end of this season for a resolution. I refuse to watch a S10 of drama I want the boys back too. Oh they also said some these arcs will spill over to S10.
Thanks for filling me in. I'd heard some of that before- the breaking down to rebuild thing. I just wonder how long they're going to take-- if it's done well I don't mind it taking time, but we will see. They are really making me hate the dynamic right now, though.
I could be fine with some of the arcs going on into next season, but not if we don't get some relief from this conflict. I tune in for Sam and Dean and how incredibly much they care about each other, not this... whatever this is.
