So… Haven’t posted in a while. Been busy-many sorries.
Anyways I guess I should go back at least somewhat… so to last Thursday… the first I think…
We (my mom, dad, and I) took a flight to Colorado for Parent’s Weekend at the AFA (Air Force Academy) where my brother currently attends college. That was actually quite fun, I got to meet a lot of his teachers including a very cool psych one. He has an opportunity to take a class that doubles your reading speed and increases the amount of information you take in. I wish I could take it because it sounds like lots of fun. We did a lot of walking--- the AFA is really big, I probably walked ten miles on Friday. Saturday was the football game with flyovers and cheerleaders and stuff. It was all right, I did like a short movie of how the mascot (a falcon- btw the AFA is the only school in the NCAA with a performing mascot- there is a team of falconers who deal with the real falcons) learned to dance. If you’ve ever seen the MOVIE Footloose it was based on that with clips and stuff, and then they put the mascot (the person one, not the live one) in similar positions. It was very funny. We went to mass Sunday and my brother sang in the choir (he joined because they’re making a trip to where I live sometime this year). Monday was our return flight, which we nearly missed because we took forever to eat breakfast with my bro. In fact, my dad had to take a different flight because we couldn’t check our baggage and one of our suitcases was too big to carry on. My mom and I ran it and I ended up falling on the escalator and scraping myself up pretty bad, but we did make the flight and flew first class. On the second leg, we took a bump into a nearby airport and now have two round-trip tickets.
Now to school, which started the morning after this horrific flight stuff. We had freshmen orientation on Monday, and met most of our teachers. It was alright except you know, it’s school.
Today, we had the whole school and got to watch this really funny movie about how student council “trained” and figured out the design for this year’s folder. It was a nice first real day- I had some juniors looking out for me and stuff. Maybe another post on that after I get to know them.
