scene 17: why is a raven like a writing desk?

I don’t see how yesterday was a curse at all. It was incredibly fun - I wish we spontaneously burst into song everyday!

Waverly and I are planning a Mad Tea Party, and Rose (how do we differentiate between Rose and Rose? Nicknames or something?) is helping us plan it - you’re all invited! We’re going to dress up as characters from Alice in ( Read more... )

A mad tea party? How amusing.

I think so, too - I hope, at least. Do drop by, if you're free!

I'm Sarah, by the way. I don't believe we've met.

[ooc: Perfect! Magnetize away!]

It should be, especially during this time of year when it's only cold and damp and curses to amuse everyone. Thank you for arranging it. I'd certainly love to come--and I've a White Rabbit costume I wore to a masquerade last autumn somewhere here.

Cain Hargreaves. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Sarah.

What a delightful way of looking at it - I'm so glad you feel that way. We were hoping to arrange something that would cheer everyone up.

The pleasure is mine, Mr. Cain Hargreaves. Please do call me Sarah. After all, I'm intending on going as Alice, so I'm sure we'll be much thrown together at the party!

...Listening to the rest of the City...was the curse.

Of course. You would take something so wonderful and cheerful and turn it into something...dull. Don't you ever get tired of doing that?

...And how have I done that?

I thought it was intriguing...for a curse. Your voice, for instance...was a cut above the others'.

Never mind.

I...don't even know half those songs I was singing. I can't - I mean, it wasn't me, it was the music. I couldn't have known.

I liked yesterday's curse as well, and I'd be more sad that I wasn't personally affected except that I don't think my voice is very good. It was nice to hear everyone else singing, though.

Dr. Tenma! I'm so glad to hear from you - how are you? Have you been settling in all right?

Ah, yes, I'm fine! I'm sorry, I should have said something sooner, shouldn't I? There are some people from back home here, so I have a place to stay and a friend to show me around.

How have you been?

I'm so relieved to hear that. Don't worry about it a second longer.

I've been very well, thanks. Will you be coming to the tea on Saturday afternoon?

Why's a raven like a writing desk? I know this one--flat notes, right? *grin*

Yes! Very good! We'll have to have prizes, or something, for everyone who guesses the riddles. You are coming, aren't you? You have to!

I'd love to come--Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass were two of my favourites when I was little.

I'll have to figure out a costume, though.

Mine, too. I used to wander around the playground at school, looking for the rabbit hole. It's little wonder most everyone thought I was incurably odd.

You should come shopping with us, and we can all figure it out together!
