scene 47: accidental voice post

N-no. No, I can't go downstairs, I can't. It's dark there, it's filled with darkness, darkness everywhere...I can't find it, it's too dark!

[There's the sound of something being dropped, landing in a loud thud, followed by a gasp]

It's awful, I don't know why I came here, or how I'm going to leave without...without...

By the window. I won't move from it. It's a little brighter here.

The one upstairs. I had been reading, but...but I dropped the book, and I am not going down there to get it.

Open the window, I'll fly in.

[A blue crow flies in and lands next to her, then transforms]

Hi, Sarah. Are you okay?

[Sarah definitely doesn't look okay, although she begins to nod in response to his question. She seems to think better of it a moment later, and shakes her head a little. She's still huddled as much as she can be in the window sill, hugging her knees to her chest.]

I dropped the book, but I can't go get it. I can't.

I'll go get it. Point where you dropped it?

[She points vaguely toward the staircase, where the book can still be seen lying on the steps, before her outstretched hand clasps Blue's wrist, and her eyes widen.]

No, don't go!

[Turns to pull Sarah close]

What's the matter?

[charmedillusion]

[Clings to him when he does, as much to keep him from going downstairs into the dark as for the relief being near him brings her.]

You can't go there, it's too dark!

Oh. Hm.

[Reaches into his cloak and pulls out a flashlight, and turns it on]

Lets see. Does that help?

[charmedillusion]

[She looks at the flashlight and nods, taking a deep breath. She then holds out her hand for it, looking up at him expectantly. If someone's going to venture into the darkness and face the danger, she'd much rather do it herself than risk someone she loves. Besides...she dropped the book in the first place.]
