Right, so...nothing is given without a disadvantage, and it's not like I used this all that much, anyway. Besides, we get them back, don't we?If there's anyone else in the mirror world who thinks ocean fishing is a great idea, either say something right now, or don't say it at all ( Read more... )

It's funny...Harry was just telling me how we shouldn't trust the fountain, but right now it's our only hope.

[She reaches for her phone, one hand on the door, before turning to give her friend a questioning look.]

Time to go?

We haven't really got much of a choice...

[Follows Sarah along and nods looking totally confident about it, though inwardly she's a little unsure of what to actually expect but this is the only way.]

Let's go.

[Sarah sighs, nodding in agreement. Even if this isn't such a great idea...it's for the Doctor, and she'd risk anything to bring him back.]

Do we have to actually go in the fountain?

[Hopefully the link was still strong. She stares at the fountain for a second then looks back at her friend with uncertainly.]

Maybe we just have to take a step on the edge of it? Not actually go in, yeah...They didn't really say back at that office.

That makes sense.

[Staring at the water, she reaches out and grasps Rose's hand]

On the count of three?

[Rose grips Sarah's hand, again looking at the water, and nods slowly.]

On three. One...

[ooc: OMG wrong icon in that last post. *kicks LJ*]

Two...

[She takes a deep breath]

Three!

[And pulling Rose with her, she takes a little jump forward!]

[ooc: LOL I figured! *pets*]

[Gets pulled along and they vanish, entering the Mirror City all dry. Rose blinks and looks around. She tries to vocalize but nothing is coming out much to her shock. She grips at her neck. Right like that would help. Should've listened to those warnings.

She looks over at Sarah with a very worried expression.]

[The transition from City to Mirror City should have felt more momentous, Sarah thinks. She waits for a moment to feel different, to feel strange, to feel anything, but she feels nothing. Absolutely nothing. Somehow along the way she must have let go of Rose's hand, for she doesn't feel that anymore, either.

Glancing over, she sees she still is holding onto Rose's hand.

But...she feels nothing.

It's eerie, creepy, and all around disturbing, even though she went into this knowing she'd have to give up something, and it may as well be her sense of touch, right?

Taking a deeper breath, she brushes it out of her mind, determined not to get caught up in trivial details.

...Rose gripping her neck with a very, very worried expression is not a trivial detail.]

Rose...?

[A large part of her had really been hoping that the having to give something up was just utterly false. Obviously that was not the case at the moment. With everything that she had learned from Artemis she was confident or rather had been.

She mouths out Sarah's name but that's all that she can do. Not a single sound is coming out. She reaches for her mobile and starts to type something out, showing it to her.]

'My voice is gone.'

[A small gasp escapes her as she reads Rose's text message, even though she had guessed that was the horrid truth by her friend's silence.

Goodness, is she ever glad they brought their cell phones along - it may end up being the only way they can communicate.

Grimly, she hopes nothing takes them by surprise at any given moment - the only thing Rose might be able to do would be to grab her in warning, and Sarah knows she wouldn't feel it.]

It's okay...we'll still find him, and we'll still bring him home. I promise.

[Giving Rose a reassuring smile, she glances over her shoulder.]

The beach is that way, isn't it?

[She looks straight on ahead and nods. Knowing that they will, but also knowing that in order to do that they need some sort of plan. She returns Sarah's smile and then types again show it to her.]

'Were you affected?'

[Sarah glances at the phone screen as they walk, wondering how best to answer that. Holding out her left hand, she embeds the nails in her right hand in her palm, hard enough and long enough to leave little arc-shaped scars in the tender flesh that should have hurt a considerable amount. She doesn't blink or flinch.]

I...can't feel anything. At all.

[This is not good. Not good at all. It just echoes over and over again in her mind. Her expression worsens, very worried for her friend. They need to find the Doctor and get out quick. Would this follow them throughout and when they jumped back?

A plan is needed she knows and so as they keep on walking, Rose's fingers keep on working on her mobile.]

'Oh Sarah, I'm so sorry....

When we get there hide...We need to...'

...To think of a plan?

[Sarah's still smiling, mostly for Rose's sake, although truthfully she's worried, too. She thinks - she hopes - their voice and sense of touch will return once they do, but she's not sure. Not that it really matters at this point...]

Right. So. I'll hide, and you'll speak - er, convince - the Doctor to come back with us. If he wants to stay with his fish, I guess I can serve as back up and find something to club him with?

[She's keeping her voice light, trying to make the situation not as grave as it is, using words she knows her friend will recognize.]
