Cordelia and I talked for awhile, and decided that we couldn't see each other anymore. I know it broke her heart, and mine as well. It just wasn't in the cards for us to be together. Somehow, it never works out for me. Or for her either

I thought for a moment. I hated to see Tara of all people upset like this. I needed to do some damage control. And I was wondering about the "massive failure" of the last time Makayla took care of herself too.

"I understand that you don't need help. We don't want to force anything on you, Makayla. I don't know what happened to you last time, and maybe if you'd tell us about it instead of taking out your frustration and pain on us, we could try and help. We're your friends. You should trust Tara, she is one of the most trustworthy people I know."

I stopped for a moment. "Just give us a chance. Stay with us a few nights. Get used to have a roof over your head, meals when you want them, help when you need it. We want you to feel safe with us, and that can't happen unless you level with us and let us in. We can't force you to do anything. It's up to you."

And I'm talking a lot for a guy that doesn't talk much. But I was tired of people running away from me. I let Cordelia get away, and I wasn't going to let go of Makayla that easily. Not that I care about Makayla the way I care for Cordelia, but still.

Okay, now to see if she takes the deal.

I smiled a little when Angel called me trustworthy, then turned back to Makayla.

After Angel was done talking, I just raised my eyebrows a little and watched Makayla, hoping that she would agree, that she would take the deal.
