“What would you have me do, Paige? How am I supposed to react? I wasn’t there. I wasn’t with my son that day,” Piper snaps. She falls into a chair, willing her rage to last so that she can keep pretending it hasn’t happened. Because she can do that. She can look at her little baby and know that Chris isn’t gone.
“We’re going to change that future, Piper…but you lost something that day. It’s okay to be upset about that loss.”
“I’m sorry, but only one of Chris’ parents can afford to go off the deepend at a time.”
