VVC Club Vivid 2010

Can anyone tell me when it is that we make a claim for the Club Vivid songs? And the deadline for submitting to Club Vivid is May 1st, isn't it?

I can't remember what happened last year. Doh.

Oh, are the songs pre-set? I was thinking of submitting for this year, but I already have a song picked for my idea. And it sounds like they already get too many entries. Perhaps I'll try for the premieres show instead.

There is usually a list of songs for folks to choose from but that's only if you don't already have your own song/idea. That's how it's gone on previous years.

Edit: You do have to claim your song though nearer the time because they need to make sure it's danceable and not already taken by another vidder.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info! I've signed up to the LJ comm so I can keep up-to-date with everything. I'm pretty sure my song is suitable. It's disco, WOOT!

I'm quite excited. My vidding mojo is back and I've never participated before (although one of my old vids was chosen for a vidshow last year). Every year I see all the squee and frenzy on LJ and feel left out. I can't go, obviously (unless I win Lotto some time soon) but just to be a part of it would be great fun. I've really missed vidding lately.

It is fun to participate even when you can't go. To be honest I think it keeps the pressure to a minimum, attendees seem to get so stressed about their vids, I can't imagine putting myself through it.

It would be great to see a new vid from you no matter what the circumstances and I'm sure it'll be awesome.

obsessive24 and I thought that this year (if she's not going) we could get together and have our own virtual Club Vivid, seeing as she only lives 15 minutes away, LOL. I would love to go one day, for the experience.

I'm really happy to be vidding again. I suffocated myself under the weight of trying to be a vidder that I'm not. I can't do huge sparkly effects vids, and I'm not good at deep meta either. My heart lies with just capturing the mood of a character or a show that I love and going "squeeee" all over the timeline. Once I accepted that, the love came back. Now I just need my sleep removed to deal with all the vid bunnies...

Sounds like a great idea. Vidders can be their own worst enemies sometimes, so many insecurities. I'm extremely fond of squeeful vids, particularly in fandoms I'm familiar with so I'll keep my fingers crossed and wait patiently for your spare time and your inspiration to converge.
