"Means of Grace" - John Wesley
Lent is a Deeper, More Spiritual Time
2 Corinthians: VS 8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; 9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you. 12 We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us. 13 As a fair exchange-I speak as to my children-open wide your hearts also.
"We can think about the ways we act intolerantly toward those who differ from ourselves. And how we often fail to listen, to learn, to respond to the crying injustices in our society"
May God look upon us with compassion and grant us forgiveness.
I'm giving up bitterness for lent. Bitterness toward Abby, bitterness toward the Kinderline here at school for whatever reason. All bitterness. I'm giving it up for lent.
Of course, I also made it as a new years resolution and we see how that's gone... but to be fair, at that point I didn't know that Abby had decided to do this thing.
I'm going to need prayers to give me strength.
