Thanksgiving:
My mom's family at my aunts, Doug's family at the James' house, my dad's family at our house. Older brother Dan and his new wife leave for honeymoon Saturday morning. Sunday - Parents, brother Brett, and Laura and Doug (respective sig. others) go Christmas tree shopping. Burke picks the tree.
The fun: Wednesday night before Thanksgiving - Patrick, Rich, Jared, Ben, Jamie, Laura, Sarah & Ben, and me & Doug. Patrick and and Richard should not be in charge of the booze in future. Highlight: Jared deciding to wander around the apartment in his underwear and boots - Ben and Doug not amused with their respective wife and girlfriend's friends. Oops. Sarah and I were DDs but can I can say from half a sip that 4Loko tastes like complete and utter cow dung. Highlight 2: Now I know the intimate details of Sarah (married) and Jamie (definitely not) 's sex lives. In 6 + years when I agree to marry Doug I will have plenty of good advice givers.
This week: Tri-wizard tournament is getting squared away piece by piece. I have made sure it is done by as many different people as possible, but Ashley seems to have taken the lead... hopefully she won't value sex with some boy above celebrating our triumph since the pulling of this thing off will definitely necessitate a super serious all night officer exclusive party.
Made my final presentation in 446 on Tuesday - seem to be only one that day to be complemented by Beckerman, so assume it went pretty well. Friday completed final paper for same class and need only final print edit before turning it in. Almost completely done with my last genetics class every :'( but it's going well so we'll take it.
Thursday: Morgan, Katie, Kristin, Dave, and Mer came over for official twinkie making. It was good until the icing injector got a bit fouled up and Morgan decided that twinkies would make better cup-cakes anyway. Booth and Brennen still not together despite the fact that Parker loves Brennen.
Wednesday was Merlin and overnight party with Katie and Morgan. We made final preparations for my post Christmas move into Atherton (thank God for making that work or several people might have lost their minds).
Home for the weekend - Hershey Bears Ice Hockey game with Doug, dinner at my favourite Italian place last night, Dad's musical on Sunday and Brett's show in Philly Sunday night.
All that means 1 week of class and then just finals. Thank God the plan was to be on Study Abroad this year and the thesis is already done!!!!! I am now advocating that everyone do their thesis a year and a half early and thus avoid the pain of senior year. However, remaining glad not to be in Russia next semester since the cold is horrible for blood circulation!
Ich hab die hausaufgaben von die Meredith von Deutsch zu English gemacht damit sie koennen etwas machen fuer Art History und ich erinnere mich warum ich bevorzugen American Sign Language Uebersetzung besser.
And anyway, deaf culture is more evolved than Russian culture and I'm afraid that I am a cultural anthropologist first and a linguist second.
Speaking of American Sign Language - Gallaudette girls: we are doing NYC between Chrstmas and New years as long as Sadie can fly in, yes? Jonathan, do you have off for Christmas in that strange land you live in you know, where the word is Zeb-rA (and you worship the Queen). Because you are due a visit too! Well, not technically, but you can totally tell your boss that you've gotten your British Sign language mixed up again with your American and only we girls can sort you out straight. Well, we can't sort you out straight but you know what I mean :)
