At last, Amy Pond will go away.
The Doctor is getting a new companion.
Her name is Jenna Louise Coleman. And now, I can't wait for Christmas.
I am probably one of five people who hate Amy Pond. She's been the Doctor's Companion (along with her husband Rory - and I only kept watching the last two series because of him) for two seasons and I've been grinding my teeth through every single episode.
Here's the news: Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill's characters (Amy and Rory) will leave in episode five of the seventh series after an encounter with the Weeping Angels. Following their departure,
Jenna-Louise Coleman will join the cast as the Doctor's new companion and will arrive in the show in the
Christmas special.
Hurrah! I am super excited to see how she gets on with Alex Kingston's River Song. Such good news!
