For his performance as the tormented Brandon, Fassbender has won the best actor award at the Venice film festival last month. His character's disease calls for scenes of unhappy encounters is hotel rooms, and lots of nudity. A massive leap from his Rochester in Jane Eyre. This is his second movie with director Steve McQueen. It was the first, the film Hunger that really catapulted Michael to international recognition.
