Linus Roache’s breakthrough role was as a tortured gay man in
Priest. It was a haunting performance followed by a richly powerful turn in
Wings of the Dove.
Keeping track of his career over the years, there is usually one meaty role per year to love, but when Linus took the role of
ADA Michael Cutter on Law & Order, it was heaven. Every week, watching him wrestle with a New York accent and stare down suspects. . . it was just so good.
[I've never met a district attorney this attractive!]
Then L&O was cancelled. My upset was only healed by
Law & Order UK. Recent developments on that show have been keeping me sad for weeks. But back to Linus. He recently did a
stint on Coronation Street opposite his father. I can just imagine the two having so much fun with it.
Starting in April 2012, he will be staring in the I
TV series Titanic, set to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the ill-fated ocean liner. Julian Fellowes is behind the series, and I am a fan of his work in general, I just think I"ll only be watching this show to
see Linus on a weekly basis again.
