a new obsession
So there's something that I know very well about me, and that is the fact that I get obsessed about something very easily--if it's remotely in an area I'm interested in. And when I get obsessed, I'm in it for the long haul. That's why, if you go to my ff.net account, you find fanfic on "Charmed" (old WB Show), "Star Trek: Voyager", Night World books by L.J. Smith, etc. though some of these things haven't been around for years.
It's also why I try not to pick up a book that everyone's been raving about or see a TV show that's the hottest new thing, especially if it's in the sci-fi/fantasy genre. Because I'll get hooked.
It wasn't until the 2nd or 3rd book of Harry Potter did I finally get convinced to read it, and look at me now! Introduced to the world of fanfiction because of it.
So I held off on the Hunger Games until a couple of nights ago. And I devoured the first book in two nights (darn work) and am over half way into the second one now. I plan on finishing that and Mockingjay before the weekend is over. And then...new fandom here I come! (Though I've already watched the trailer a few times now and looked for all pics of the movie I can--I'm not dabbling in the fanfic until I'm done with all three; don't want spoilers!)
