You'd think that with the amount of time that I'm not posting on LJ that I'd be spending it on my Nano Novel. Sadly, this is not the case. So I'm at least going to write something.
Day 12 - Have you ever attempted an "adaptation" fic of a favorite book or movie but set in a different fandom?
I semi-tried this with Sabrina (the Audrey Hepburn movie, not the Teenage Witch) and with next-Gen Harry Potter characters. I did four paragraphs and got bored and started watching Doctor Who reruns.

Day 13 - Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?
I like a bit of both. I don't stray too far from canon because at that point I might as well right an Original Fic instead of pretending it's fanfic. I do like a bit of AU now and then but mostly, for some reason, I find satisfaction in writing "missing moments" type of stories. I feel by being a fanfic writer, I definitely have gotten more insight into the characters as the creator intended them, but of course, there are times when I mix up what's canon and what's my own head canon :P

Day 14 - Ratings - how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?
I get to a bare "R". So not into writing NC-17 though I'm not above reading it (teehee). I just feel weird typing out graphic scenes. I'm also more into the emotional porn than physical aspects of things. I'm pretty varied from G to bare R and hang around a comfortable PG-13/Teen rating.
