"It's over."
She felt herself crumble beneath the words, tears falling freely.
The blonde turned, she left. For good this time, she promised herself, it was for good.
"Please," the only thing she could think to say. The girl ahead stopped, clenching her fists by her sides, before she turned around, closing the space between them quickly, and pulling the other girl into her body, crushing their lips together painfully, furiously; the redhead had trouble keeping up.
She broke away, leaving the smaller girl gasping for air.
"I'm not Naomi." She growled, fist in the red hair. Kat found herself shocked, but then again, not at all.
"I'm sorry,"
"I hope to God, that she was worth it." She whispered slowly, deliberately, anger bleeding thorough her teeth. Then she let go completely and took a step back.
"Please don't leave me." The smaller girl sobbed, grabbing her hand. The blonde just pulled away from her grasp, looking over her with a disgust Kat had never seen before.
"Goodbye, Kathryn." she walked away, leaving the redhead unbelievably empty. She felt herself lose control of anything she cared for in the moment she walked away. She didn't know what to do - she wanted to scream, she wanted to throw things, she wanted to punch someone in the face, feel something break beneath her.
But she couldn't find anything in her. Breathless, empty, defeated, she fell to the floor. The cold grit of the pavement scratched the palm of her hands, clinging to her skin. Her chest hurt, her head hurt, she felt sick, like she couldn't breathe. This must be the heartache she so adamantly denied existence of.
She couldn't leave it like this, could she? She couldn't let her just walk away like that. Surely she wouldn't carry on breathing.
"Lily, wait!" She forced herself up, forced her legs to carry her towards the blonde.
She ran, though she wondered how, but she did, and she planted a hand on each of Lily's cheeks, and crushed their lips together. It was needy, her lips lingering with each touch, memorising each sensation. Just in case. she thought, but no. She banished that thought quickly.
Lily kissed back, she knows she did. But even as those lips worked against her own, Lily's hands came up to push her away. She couldn't have that; she wasn't done. If this is the last thing she'd feel, it'd have to be fucking good to keep her going.
Her own hands caught Lily's, pushing them down to her sides. Lily's fingers twitched beneath her own, before giving in completely, intwining them, but gripping painfully, still angry, still desperate for Kat to hurt the way she did.
They broke away, and rested their foreheads together.
"Why? Why did you do it?" She breathed.
"I'm sorry,"
"Why won't you let me go?" She was almost crying, Kat could tell.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." She repeated, over and over again, bringing her hand up to Lily's cheek, caressing it roughly, pulling her to make eye contact, but Lily wouldn't, couldn't.
"I'm so sorry," She kissed her again, softer, still needy, still breathing apologies as her hands work the button on Lily's jeans.
A dirty fuck against the wall, is that all I am? Lily wondered, but it didn't matter. Kat's expert hands undone her, took away the thoughts plaguing her. Sometimes she wondered if that's why she couldn't leave her, but of course, it wasn't.
Lily Loveless, truly, madly, deeply, in love. Ironic.
Kat's hands worked against her clit roughly, desperately, while she kissed her exactly the same way; everything about their relationship was this way, it broke Lily's heart.
"Forgive me," Kat whispered against Lily's lips as she plunged two fingers deep inside the girl she loved, but was too afraid to admit to. Lily was left void of any words.
"Forgive me," She said a little more forcefully, curling her fingers deeper inside the girl. Lily closed her eyes trying to form some coherent thoughts.
"I love you, Lily. I love you," She whispered into the blonde's ear, over and over, until finally, Lily could take no more, thrusting her hips hard into Kat, she clenched around her fingers and closed her eyes.
"Oh, Kat," The name came out involuntarily, she hated herself for it. Kat's heart raced as she watched the girl come, grinding against her hand.
Finally, Lily's body relaxed against the wall, sweaty and panting. Kat slipped her fingers out of the girl, and brought her hands to Lily's hips. Lily could feel her own wetness on Kat's fingers, now on her hip.
"Jesus," She breathed, closing her eyes.
"Can you forgive me?" Kat said quietly, looking into Lily's eyes, sincerity pouring from the chocolate eyes infront of her. Kat had an amazing ability to portray everything with nothing; just a look. Lily knew she was sorry, knew she was accepting that she was horrifically out of line.
Lily sighed, resting her head against the wall and watching the sky.
"I love you, Kat. I just wish you wouldn't use it against me." Kat winced as the words fell upon her ears.
"I love you too." because really, she couldn't say much else.
"Do you?" Lily was mildly surprised, but couldn't muster any expression of it, so instead continued watching the sky.
"More than I think I can handle, sometimes."
Lily just sighed in response, but put her arms around Kat's shoulders. Kat secured her arms around Lily's waist and rested her head against the blonde's chest, listening to the steady beat of her heart.
Ultimately, Lily knew what they had was fucked up. But she couldn't just let go of the one girl she loved, could she?
