I thought that overall, the book was a really good almost final draft. It was very fast paced, with lots to get done in a short amount of time. The characters bloomed, and seemed more mature for their age (which I expected since they have had to grow up really fast). The dialogue was mainly good.

I felt that the actions scenes were rushed by so quickly, I lost track of where characters were. It like Harry was one place, and then in the next sentence, he was safe, across the room. Her actions scenes were very confusing.

Alot of the book was deja vu for me (as other fanfic readers have said). They were many points where the line was blurred between fandom and canon. Is this just really good fandom writers getting into the characters or JKR reading her fair share, I couldnt say.

I got more upset by Hedwig's, Dobby's, and Fred's death scenes then anyone else. JKR really dropped the ball with Tonks' and Remus' death scenes. Remus was the last close friend of his parents Harry had, and he walked passed their bodies like they were strangers. Granted, there was ALOT going on, but still, a pause would have been in character. Maybe even Harry realizing how similar his and Teddy's lives were would have been nice. (And a half-werewolf's baby named Teddy? Seriously?)

The epilogue was completely pointless for me. It was VERY incomplete. It seemed like she stuck it in to screw with fandom, and Im sure (as other fanfic writers have said) there will be plenty of "what if the epilogue never happened?" fanfics.

But, overall, a very good rough draft. The series will be read for many more years, but I dont imagine it will be as celebrated as CS Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia series.
