Better prepared this time, Taiki has his bag and a jacket. Hands dive into his pockets and he nods at Imogene's question while watching Brier. "She is. And still insisting that we leave, he's coming."

Taiki takes a slow step forward, towards the female guard.

Imogene makes a face. She crosses her arms.

"A bit of a broken record isn't she? How...um. How do you convince her that everything is good and safe. I mean I am sure you have dealt with someone freaking the heck out before. Is she...like...paying attention to us?"

Brier does appear to be paying attention. She looks from Mr. Kayashima to Imogene and back, several times, shifting to a slightly more defensive position and tightening her grip on her ghostly sword as Mr. Kayashima takes a step forward.

"Where is Mr. Imeson?" She asks.

"She is. And she can hear you," Taiki reminds her. "Where is Mr. Imeson? Is he available?"

Imogene shrugs. "I don't know. Reading or something probably. Do you need him?"

Brier continues to watch them. But they are talking, not fighting. She relaxes a little. "Mr. Imeson is...reading?"

A debate while he considers Brier. "Maybe, depending. ...Would you like to explain things to her?"

Taiki nods to the ghost. "Yes. The conflict has been resolved."

"Things? Like...What things? Like...three years ago things?" Imogene asks.

Brier shakes her head slightly. "Three years ago?" she repeats. "What do you mean 'resolved'." She bites her lip. "I don't think you understand..."

"You know the details better than I." He replies, nodding.

Returning to Brier, "Do you trust her?" Tilting his head towards Imogene.

"Of course she trusts me. I'm her queen." Imogene says. Brier is, meanwhile, looking back and forth between them again. She focuses on Tsiki and says "Who are you?"

Brier is at the disadvantage of not knowing that Imogene cannot hear her. She cannot say to Taiki that, to her mind, Imogene is an impulsive little girl who likes to lie about things. Important things. "Her uncle..." she begins, then trails off. Her grip on the sword relaxes some.

"if mr. Imeson is safe I wish to speak to him."

Taiki lets that comment go -- bringing up rank not equaling trust would serve no purpose in this situation. "Kayashima Taiki. We have met before, though I realize you may not recall." All this said with his usual humbleness.

"Could Mr. Imeson join us?" He asks Imogene, turning so he can properly face them both. "She is asking for him."

Imogene makes a face, but she nods. She runs off down the corridor in a flutter of skirts.

Brier watches her, looking a little perplexed. She looks back to Taiki and shakes her head. "I'm sorry. I can't remember you. I can't seem to remember..." She looks back to where Imogene's form has disappeared.

"You're sure the danger has passed? Maybe one of us should have gone with her. I know she looks very tough, and she's all noise and bluster but she's not well, she needs protecting" She still looks worried, but at least the grip on the sword is looser now. She is not in a panic. It might be a good time for Taiki to ask her the questions she couldn't remember the answers to before.

"It is fine, we only met briefly." he attempts to pacify before moving onto his next questions. "Do you remember your name? And what's the last thing that you can recall? Events or otherwise." Speaking in his usual calm monotone. "Perhaps about the state of..." trailing off and gesturing to Brier's bloodstained middle.

...There's really no polite way of doing that.

Brier actually has a journal...but I can't recall the password queenisme1 November 15 2011, 13:15:16 UTC
"I'm sorry. I don't remember at all." She admits. "My name?" She repeats. But it is unclear if she has remembered because. as she is about to answer she looks down where Taiki has indicated. and sees her own torso. She drops her sword and puts both hands over it.

"Oh my God." She unbuttons the jacket to reveal the wound. She shakes her head and looks up at Taiki again

"It doesn't hurt. Why doesn't it hurt?"

"It happened years go. It's good that it doesn't hurt, though." Not every ghost is so lucky. It makes Taiki's experience that much easier, at least... "I believe it happened while you were doing your job, enabling others to escape." The details are difficult for him to remember -- a lot has happened between the conversation with Imogene and now. Taiki hopes that as he feeds her bits of information, Brier will begin to put the pieces together herself. "The conflict over Xanti has been resolved."

"Years ago? How could I bleed for years?" she asks. Then, realization dawns on her.

"Am I...?" she can't bring herself to say the last word. She just looks down again and bites her lip.

Taiki keeps quiet for the moment, stepping forward and intending to pick up the sword and offer it to her. It seems terribly rude to intrude on this moment, seeing as how realization of one's death is a very personal thing. But there's nothing he can do. Let her process things if she's able and just... be present, as usual.

Brier's eyes go from the wound to Taiki as he bends, then to the corridor. The sound of Imogene's feet as she retreated was soft, but Gabriel, on crutches, cand be heard long before he comes around the corner.

Brier, not aware that it is her comrade, forgets she is dead for a moment, as she gathers the sword from Taiki and steps forward to put herself between him and the approaching noise. "Someone is coming." she tells him, master of the obvious that she is. Still, though she is distracted she is not paniced as she was the eariler times they have visited.
