Graves and Gravy

Dec 11, 2011 00:20

...Gravy? You mean there is FOOD somewhere involved in this? Presumably food that I don't have to pay for? I want in on this little arrangement...Oh wait. It's metaphorical gravy. Damn.

It's been about four days since I last slept actually. Not because I can't sleep, but I've had to stay awake. There have been an influx of patients since Kirkwall is getting colder, and the worst coughs have a nasty habit of getting worse in the middle of the night. Then, too, the templars have been rooting around my place again, no matter how many times the assistants are able to pass it off as their own, purely natural establishment. It's getting harder to completely mask my signature the more I have to work, so even when I get a minute, I'm already too keyed up to even think of sleeping. There have also been the countless bottles of lyrium I've had to down the last few days to keep up the pace. Pretty soon, I'm going to look like a damned templar, shaking hands and all.

And Justice, well, the closer they get to finding me, us, whichever, the more frantic he has gotten, and the more he's wanted to work. There are stretches of writing where I lose myself to his power completely, and I look back, and the things he's written scare me,which...do not help either. I think somebody's going to have to knock me out to get me sleeping, actually sleeping, anytime soon.

The things that keep me up at night aren't any of your... Septimus keeps me up at night. Both when we make our way out barracks to be together, and then when I'm thinking about him either before or after. Yes, I know that we have to be careful, but knowing that I can unlock his collar, and my captain trusts me enough to not activate mine at night, and we can be almost two normal people actually in love...It's worth losing a little sleep for, definitely. :)

Take one too many holidays celebrated by everybody here, and one too many cultural appropriation nights this month, and movie nights, and other activities, and a little too much celebration time logged by all of us? It adds up to overstimulation, stomachaches, and the whole wandering around trying to find things to do bit, and, let's just say I'm logging a lot of hours over in the PE sheds. Luckily, that means I can eat all of my messed up attempts at baklava before anyone else sees it. The Doc says my blood sugar's going up, but my weight's actually going down and I'm in peak performance mode and condition, so that seems to be working out for me...
