Once, when you walked away from somebody else...
“I'm sorry,” I said as I turned to go.
“Wait!” she cried. “Ishe, must you really?”
I turned back to Brun with a sad look, “Yes, he is worth defying all of this; worth more than all the souls in Asgard”
With that, I left, not looking back, knowing that the next time we met, we would be enemies.
...and once, when someone walked away from you.
I opened my eyes and looked around. All was blank gray walls and one wooden door with bars across the opening. Looking down at my hands, I saw the manacles around my wrists.
“Ah, I see you have awoken,” a voice said from the other side of the door, sounding a bit muffled. She would recognize that voice anywhere.
Defiantly, she looked up, “What do you want, Loki?”
“Now, now, is that any way to greet your protector?” he asked smugly.
“Protector my black-feathered ass!”
He laughed. The asshole actually laughed! I glared at the door, wishing that I could see him; could throttle him with these chains.
“Your indignation is quite funny, my little pet,” he chortled. “I'll be seeing you.”
I could hear the smirk in his voice at that, as I listened to his footsteps recede down the corridor.
