Munday: Time Periods
What time period do you most like to set your stories or characters in, and why?
My three main characters (currently) are all set in present day. I'm not sure that it was a conscious decision... I never debated Sabe's time period but rather it just seemed to come along in the initial character package.
Taiki and Senri are from a modern-day story. Their series ended in 2004 with them graduating on to 3rd year in high school. It is actually a bit of a coincidence that their current ages line up well with the canon material time period. I just wanted to play them as adults, to find out how their personalities, senses, and situations would translate into adult life.
Sabe, Taiki, and Senri are all from present day but I also tend to go back and fill in their past. I think it's interesting to examine the characters at different ages and stages in their life -- it gives me a greater understanding of the how and why surrounding their present-day selves.
