“I don’t understand why you’re so shocked,” Rigella smiled wryly at the vampire. “I always keep my promises. My life’s blood in exchange for your protection these last few turbulent weeks.”
She sat serenely on the grass with her hands folded. Her hair was pinned up out of the way, and her shirt was nearly completely unbuttoned, falling off her shoulders.
"My will is here…and you are welcome to my remaining gold.” She placed a weathered hand on a small purse. “I’ve dug the grave already, I hope you will not mind filling it in when you are done.”
