Friday: Things I hate about my job
1. Missing holidays with my family: The State Department requires a lot of travel, not always at the most opportune times. I've missed more holidays over the last twenty years than I've been home. Celebrating Christmas in February isn't as fun as it sounds.
2. The Bureaucracy: It's a government job, so there are meetings for the sake of having meetings and a chain of command longer than you could possibly imagine.
3. Anything that has the words "In Triplicate" or more on it: self-explanatory.
4. Lunch is said to be something we all get, yet is something I rarely get.
5. Getting my nose broken by a Navy Admiral: It happened once. It still makes the list.
6. Any dealings in a South American Country: They always go poorly.
