K’tanya looked across the table at her friend. "It’ll never work. Girls don’t grow up with those kinds of dreams these days. Sure, it used to be all fairy tale castles and handsome princes to carry them away, but times have changed."
"What do you suggest then?"
"It needs to be something with more of an edge."
"I did have a thought about a vampire love story but…"
"That’s a really good idea actually, but it might be a little too dark for most girls. So, you’ll need something extra to brighten it up a bit."
Curious, and a sucker for small children, K’tanya walked over to him. "Is everything okay?"
He looked up at her. "I lost my balloon, and I don’t have any money left."
"Is that all?" She took the boy by the hand and proceeded to buy him one of every color.
Grinning, the boy thanked her before walking a little ways off, then letting go of the balloons and watching as they floated up and away.
"What did you do that for?"
"Mine was lonely."
